Disclaimer: I hate watching horror movies.
After a lot of internal motivation, I finally found the courage to check out Ari Aster's original hit film. Personally find it almost as good as Midsommar.
It has a similar approach to using folk legends to bring the disturbing factor. And what it lacks in dynamic imagery (besides that one flaming hot scene), it does outstanding in the performances by the whole family, specifically Toni Collette.
