Jesse’s review published on Letterboxd:
No one told me M3GAN’s iconic dance and murder spree was set to “Walk the Night” by the Skatt Bros. Stand out scene of the film set to a song that everyone should be a fan of.
Went into this with moderate curiosity and ended up with expectations surpassed and then some. This is what the Child’s Play remake should’ve been, especially concerning a story with supreme artificial intelligence. It was ridiculous, silly, sinister, and had me wincing and laughing all in the same breath. Could definitely see the influence of The Terminator on this film.
Still a little too glossy for me but that is expected with a Hollywood production. I like my horror with a little indie grit but nevertheless this is a decent product that will undoubtedly start a never ending train of sequels that I will definitely consume.
