this movie will forever be tainted by the memory of my millennial sister having a 1.5 hour sociopolitical debate w/ my boomer mother in the movie theater parking lot afterward.
dope opening credits though.
Kill List is an interesting horror-thriller that isn’t talked about enough. I think it was probably Elric Kane’s pretentious ass that recommended this one on a “top horror films of the 2010’s” podcast episode or something. very happy I decided to see this, as it has a last act which is legit among the scariest things I’ve seen this year 👏👏👏
High praise is given to the frenetic trip that is Tetsuo, & understandably so. But I seemed to enjoy it most during the 1st however-many-mins (when the film was at it's most subtle). Director Tsukamoto gets wildly experimental, which I can dig... but this just ain't Lynch's Eraserhead, as most tend to compare it to 🤷♂️
