Synecdoche, New York

Synecdoche, New York ★★★★★

Synechdoche, New York is a perfect and in depth exploration of life, and a very impactful film from Kaufman. Watching this movie twice was the right idea. I nearly cried the first time, and then bawled the second. I don't normally cry during movies, but this one drove me to tears. Philip Seymour Hoffman is utterly fantastic in this film. His performance stands out among an overall excellent cast. The story is so, so depressing, yet funny as well. Another fantastic part of this movie is the set. I won't spoil anything, but the set design of the film would steal the show if it weren't for Hoffmans performance. Watch this film, and watch it again. Understand it's meaning. Trust me
