Lily’s review published on Letterboxd:
Gender reversal, and immortality themes, darkly humorous. Tilda Swinton is an English nobleman ordered by Queen Elizabeth I, (played by legendary Quentin Crisp), never to fade, lose his beauty and grow old. We see Orlando living through centuries and transforming into a woman. In the 21st century, she finally accepts her true self. Beautiful photography and wardrobe. Glad this film introduced me to Jimmy Somerville who sings the haunting title track like an "angel", also the beautiful "Eliza".
