could watch the trampoline scene on loop for the rest of my life and find joy in it every time

  • Ocean Waves

    Ocean Waves

morally I don't agree with the toxic teenage melodrama and the over-dramatization of young girls but they really had it with two boys on a dock together looking at the ocean in silence for an hour while a beautiful saxophone solo plays in the background

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

This one is very interesting. It is told in a vignette style, with one main storyline following a group trying to create the perfect ramen and make the title character's ramen shop the most successful.

The cinematography & camera work, the mise-en-scene, sound design, and editing are spectacular. Everything about the film is immersive from the first scene, in which the viewer is included in the story when the fourth wall is broken. It keeps your attention, it's humorous, and it's…

    The Half of It

"isn't that what love is? how much effort you put into loving someone?" & "have you ever loved someone so much you don't want anything about her to change?" & "I always thought that there was one way to love. uh, one right way. but there are more. uh, so many more than I knew. and I never want to be the guy who stops loving someone for loving the way they want to love."

  • She's the Man

    She's the Man

okay I didn't like the girls putting each other down & the jealousy & the cissexism, but the fact that Malvolio was made a spider & Duke Orsino is a soft-hearted closeted bisexual.............

this was MY formative movie. the one I watched as a kid literally countless times. every single day I came home from school, almost my entire third grade year, I would rewatch this. I should rewatch soon, since it's been too long

  • School of Rock

    School of Rock

I have a very vivid memory of being boarded up in my room during my study abroad, my friend coming to the door & chatting with me as I watched this, him randomly mentioning Jack Black and this movie, and myself literally turning my laptop so he could see that I was watching it at that very moment. This one is so light and fun but with such a sweet & important message, the lower rating is only because there are some parts that are so cheesy they made me hide my face. It's good! Watching it was a cornerstone of growing up.
