i wanted this to be my favorite mcu movie so bad but now i'm so conflicted. on one hand, as both a lifelong marvel fan and diehard raimi enthusiast, it succeeds in the right ways, and i feel more than satisfied by DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS. it's by far the most creatively powerful marvel movie in a long time, and i saw things in this movie i would never expect to see in a mcu film, but it fell flat in some areas? it misses many opportunities and never fully explores the potential it clearly had, if only it had a stronger structure. nevertheless i have no doubt in my mind DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS will be remembered as fondly as raimi's spider-man trilogy. in dying need of a rewatch, and bonus points for all the evil dead callbacks. sam raimi, the filmmaker you are
