This movie is truly beyond amazing. They finally released this film in cinemas and I couldn't be happier. I am an avid follower of the Greek Weird Wave (hoping to join the movement sometime soon) and have seen quite almost everything by Lanthimos, Babis Makridis (might be my favourite), Athina Rachel Tsangari and now Christos Nikou (if you haven't seen Nikou's short film KM, get on it). Mount Hakkoda 1977
A very tough watch. Most of the film was just their death march through the snowy landscape of Hakkoda. But what a beautiful score. Yasushi Akutagawa is a brilliant master. Would but him up there was the classical composers and people such as Ennio Morricone. Very much like Stravinsky!
The theme definitely added the perfect vibe to the film. Without it, i would've probably checked out much sooner.
