M3GAN is more than a toy. She’s also the parent, the teacher, the security detail, and a best friend. The trailer and the entire marketing campaign for this film garnered a lot of excitement and has brought people to cinemas. It’s unfortunate that I think the trailer and marketing were done better than the film itself. There were moments where I found this to be a fun watch, but they were honestly few and far between. A big lean into the campiness or amping up the horror aspects would have brought me more satisfaction.
