This film is art.
I don't mean that this is a finely crafted piece of cinema that represents the peak of the form at the time. I mean that Gus Van Sant's 1998 (almost) shot-for-shot remake of PSYCHO is an art project. It is not a commercial film. To quote one of the most commercial movies often called art, "It belongs in a museum."
