    Memphis is the kind of movie that leaves me alone to my thoughts. It’s comfortable with long silences, with going on ahead regardless of whether or not I followed. It doesn’t boss its audience from Plot Point A to Plot Point B, explaining who the characters are and why we should care about them. Yet it reflects something about lived experience, spirituality, music, magic, boredom and the making of art.
