This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
You guys I was an hour into this film before it introduced its miracle magic healing plot. An hour!! I thought I knew what the movie was about, I thought I knew what it was gonna be!! No!!
A little cheesy but really awesome overall. Patty Jenkins has perfectly incapsulated the ‘wonder’ in Wonder Woman. Regardless of small plot details or shots, the film as a whole is incredibly fun and will most likely hold up for casual viewing. It still packs a mean punch as a female driven story and holds a lot of value in that sense, I got teary eyed several times at the representation alone. It has awesome action sequences, and Gal Gadot is even better than the last film. I just want more! This has me even more buzzed for Black Widow!
There were many times during this that I felt like I had zoned out and had been paying full attention to it the entire time. That's what this feels like- watching from a distance. If I feel anything at all now it is just more empty than before, more frustrated. I had to read several reviews on interpretations of the film to get a grasp on what had happened at all.
All I can think about now is the brief song from Oklahoma that Hugh Jackman performed on his world tour show.
