A grand but at times lacking final act for a wonderful franchise
similar to part 1 it does feel dragging at times but i guess that was on purpose because war is, for the most part, just a long period of waiting and agony w/o the vain and glory that's often portrayed in war movies
also sorry but peeta's actor's acting put me off a number of times HAHA
rated it lower than the first one just because the first…
in my opinion the weakest of the four bc holy shit does it feel like it's dragging at times (but still enough to warrant the part 1/part 2 franchise finale strategy)
however still a great setup for part 2 and it's always exciting to see the spark of a revolution, the fanning of the flames, the increasing tension between two sides of the same coin (haha gettit)
and the more i watch this franchise the more i appreciate j law as an actress, i used to think she was overrated but her performances in these movies r truly great
didn't think i could love this movie any more than i did but here we are!
[disclaimer this isn't a proper, full-blown review or analysis of the film its mostly just a brain dump bc 1) that would be at least 5 pages long and 2) I'm tired and cant be bothered to do that while I'm running on no sleep]
rewatching this got me crying at 5am and (with the help of the incredibly well-made video essays on YT)…
