I know that Stephen Sondheim will never know how much he has changed my life and shaped the person I am today. But that’s ok. He is a teacher to every young aspiring theatre kid, every composer who is trying to write their first piece, every actor studying a role. There will never be anyone quite like him to me. His music awakens everything in me: pain, love, heartache, longing, hope, and everything in between. I look up to him, and that will never change. Thank you, Mr. Sondheim. We love you.
