    Seeing this upon its release was a strange experience. Half great, half head-scratchingly awkward. It was a little better a few years later on VHS, and now 36 years later, even a little more so.

    Though the differences are minimal, I love Shout Factory including both the Theatrical and Home Video versions on their Collector's Edition, which absolutely lives up to that claim with a plethora of special feature treasures. Thanks also to director Joe Dante for his participation in this release and being a large part of why it's so special.

    5 stars for the Blu-ray.
