Raging Bull 1980
A Scorsese Flick! Martin Scorsese is in my Top 5 Favourite Directors so I was automatically exhilarated to watch Raging Bull. I’ve heard this film is an absolute masterpiece! And cinephiles state it as a piece that will be remembered forever. So I sat down in my cinema room and asserted with confidence “IM WATCHING RAGING BULL RIGHT NOW!” And the results of this experience, grievously it is a tad bit overrated.

I’m not sure why Robert De Niro was given leading credit for this on this by Letterboxd and the Blu ray box, Harvey Keitel stole the show with…

Mean Streets 1973
From the mean streets of Spielberg’s “Duel”, and “Amblin’” to Scorsese’s “Mean Streets”, I continue watching some of the earliest works from Spielberg and Scorsese, two of the greatest Hollywood filmmakers! This is a strong early effort for Scorsese, and is so assured and authentic, with all his hallmarks. A really good soundtrack too! Not only was he off to an impressive early career, but so was Robert DeNiro in one of his earliest roles. He looks so young and…

Mean Streets 1973
A climatic ending indeed. Also I learned a new word while watching. Can you guess what it is?
