Where the Crawdads Sing (2022) it's the typical comfort cliché that despite all its problems, will satisfy you in the end, and even without having read the book, I confess I'm satisfied with this final product. Perhaps its biggest problem comes with the fateful key of wanting to focus so much on just one character that it ends up not saying much more than that, focusing only on that situation and that plot. I must also praise the beautiful original song "Carolina" composed by Taylor Swift, with beautiful lyrics that sum up well what that character and setting is going on, although on the other hand, maybe it gets lost in its context of existing at that moment with that positioning. Everything is very shallow and predictable, where in the blink of an eye if you were to find yourself in a mystery story you quickly go to a romance one. It lacks enough motivations, reasons and strengths to have had a greater appreciation perhaps, anyway, with a satisfying performance by Daisy Edgar-Jones, the fact that the feature film is based only on her character ends up not becoming such a serious problem. It is certainly a sincere project, where from start to finish you know what you want to tell and in what way you want to express yourself.

Talvez seu maior problema venha com a fatídica tecla de querer se concentrar tanto em apenas um personagem que acaba não dizendo muito mais do que isso, concentrando-se apenas nessa situação e nessa trama. Mesmo assim, devo elogiar a bela canção original "Carolina" composta por Taylor Swift, com uma bela letra que resume bem o que aquela personagem e aqueles cenário estão a se passar, embora por outro lado, talvez se perca em seu contexto de existir naquele momento com aquele posicionamento. Tudo é muito superficial e previsível, onde num piscar de olhos se você está a se encontrar em uma história misteriosa, você vai rapidamente a uma história romântica. Faltam-lhe motivações, razões e pontos fortes o suficiente para ocorrer uma apreciação maior por parte do público talvez, de qualquer forma, com um desempenho satisfatório por parte de Daisy Edgar-Jones, o fato de o longa-metragem se sustentar apenas em sua personagem acaba não se tornando um problema tão sério. É certamente um projeto sincero, onde do início ao fim você sabe o que quer dizer e de que maneira deseja se expressar.
