I had watched Roma some time ago but could truly not find the words to express how much admiration and appreciation I have for this film. It is nothing less than an absolute work of art. One of the best aspects of the film that completely stood out to me is its incredible ability to tell this heartwarming/breaking story with its mere cinematography and directorial choices. It just leaves you wanting for color but manages to excel in monochrome. Roma’s beauty lies in its stunning and naturalistic direction. The long takes and camera movements are just masterful yet subtle. So many excellent artistic choices were made that left me absolutely awestruck from the first frame all the way to the jarring third act that left me completely heavy hearted.
