“It's heartening to see so many strange, new faces here today. I know my mom would be very touched, and probably a little suspicious.”
Every time after watch this I seriously think to myself.. how the hell didn’t Toni Collette (Annie) win a damn Oscar!? Her performance is flawless! It’s chilling, uneasy, physiological nightmare movie that slowly builds up, intensify’s more and more right til the very end and it’s terrifying! As I mentioned Toni Collette’s performance is a 10/10 but also some really fantastic performances from Gabriel Byrne (Steve), Alex Wolff ( Peter) and Milly Shapiro (Charlie) who play there roles real well.
Director and Writer Ari Aster’s take on Horror isn’t your typical horror film. It’s very unique, dark, polarising, slow burn, building of tension and will literally make think hard and pay very close attention to. It’s so unique and kind of refreshing which is really good. The Cinematography is beautifully shot and the music used is so eerie it fits perfectly. Recommend this horror film!
