Matt Brown’s review published on Letterboxd:
Visually this movie is a masterpiece. The natural beauty of Monument Valley, the lush color and scope of the VistaVision, the beautiful framing of shots from dark interiors to bright exteriors. Just a really gorgeous looking film.
The story, while a bit offensive by todays sensibilities is still quite gripping in its depiction of obsession and hatred. The story written in between the lines of unspoken rape and questionable paternity resulting from possible unfaithfulness is just as fascinating as what’s depicted on screen
I know all this has been said before by people more perceive and eloquent than me, but damn if this isn’t an excellent film!
