Everyone knows this is a classic.
'Once Upon a Time in America' is one of my all time favourites. Although the whole thing is amazing the first half is some of the best stuff ever put on film. It starts with mystery, then follows a group of kids in early 20th century New York, that stuff is truly magical. It also perfectly juxtaposes the second half which shows the most heartless and vicious gangsters ever.
The editing is amazing, seamlessly blending timelines without making it confusing.
Also, my favourite Morricone score.
