SUNDANCE 2021
FILM #11
Watched this last night and woke up thinking about it and wanting to see it again. Always a sign that I'm going to be obsessed with a movie. This is such a big screen film. In tone it reminds me of the hard hitting dramas Warner Brothers has consistently put out for decades. Everyone's talking about Daniel Kaluuya and deservedly so but let's not sleep on LeKeith Stanfield (the Judas of the operation). He plays William O'Neal, who could easily be hated as just a rat for the FBI. Yet Standfield makes you (or at least me) kind of feel bad for him. There's a lot of pain in his eyes. I wanted somehow for it all to work out, but history isn't so kind.
