KJ’s review published on Letterboxd:
Judas and The Black Messiah is so visceral, raw and uncensored about the true events it portrayed. I left the theatre on the verge of tears, frustrated about how much things haven’t changed since these events occurred in the late 1960’s, I was also in awe speechless and muttering to ‘wow’. I think that should give you the idea of my reaction to this film and why it deserves any nominations it garnered. The performances by both the main cast supporting were so raw due to script that felt like it was alive and breathing. A final thing I love title because of how smart it references the bible.
