Zach Kircher’s review published on Letterboxd:
A movie with a premise that you just can't help but enjoy, Gremlins is quite an entertaining little gem. Sure, the opening segment is a little bit too slow, while some of the plot elements are just corny and too over-the-top, but then again one could say that was the point - the film often plays with those Hollywood conventions well in varying degrees. The movie is so fun, humurous and extreme that it's hard to just not laugh or be excited by it. Otherwise, it is boosted by a goal tale of morality, a strong balance between humor and tension, along with some fantastic visual effects. It's films like Gremlin that remind me of how important practical effects are.
Gizmo may also be one of the most adorable characters put to film.
