Yondu didn't have a talking car, but he did have a flying arrow. He didn't have the voice of an angel, but he did have the whistle of one. Both Yondu and David Hasselhoff had kickass adventures and hooked up with hot women. And fought robots.
Sheer, total enjoyability - by and far one of the best of this brand. James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is a spectacle of the highest quality. The characters take center stage here, and my, what a great. Gunn's screenplay is simply marvelous, full of truly funny dialogue, genuine character moments, and abundant humanity. It's particularly visually pleasing, too, as Gunn takes us to Ego's planet and then into the labyrinthine interior of it. Henry Braham finds unexpected ways to shoot the already creative scenes, making it one hundred percent more fun. This movie is a complete blast.
