sam raimi truly did his best with the script he was given. doctor strange continues to be the least compelling character in his own movies, despite his somewhat interesting role when starring in others. this is probably because doctor strange is an excellent plot device due to the unknown nature of sorcery. my main complaint with the first doctor strange is how it was just a plot device in introducing characters and worldbuilding, and unfortunately this is basically the same thing. you might argue that every marvel movie is about worldbuilding and plot continuation and yeah maybe that's why marvel movies don't really hit me as hard anymore, especially without the nostalgia of the comic books. will admit that despite some of the terrible cgi that was in this movie, a lot of the wanda scenes were very cool to see.
people will hate how america was done due to how much more light-skinned the actress is compared to the comics, other people will hate how much prestige america is given compared to the comics.
personally, i just wish that wanda will get a break.
