Avatar: The Way of Water 2022
Can't believe people actually claim that this is just the exact same as the first movie but with water. They also say "bro" so much more in this one.

The Whale 2022
This is not unlike Blonde in the sense that it could be a lot better in the hands of a filmmaker willing to approach the story with some empathy. Performances and technical aspects are all very good, but what ultimately holds this film back for me is its cruelty.
Aronofsky can be a fantastic director but he also has no chill. He wasn't the right choice as director here in my opinion.

Babylon 2022
This is absolutely the exhausting chaotic epic that it was marketed as, but it also has so much more to unpack beneath its surface. Yes there's a ton of swearing, drugs, alcohol, sex, nudity, piss, shit, vomit etc.... Baby Driver 2017
Awesome film but why isn't New Orleans Instrumental No. 1 by R.E.M. included on the official soundtrack Edgar Wright??? Literally the best song in the best scene in the film.

TÁR 2022
This definitely deserves a rewatch because pretty much every scene recontextualizes the story and the woman that you've been watching up until now. I can already say that it's pretty great though.
I knew nothing about this going in so it did take me a minute to fully get into it. But once I realised that really what I was watching wasn't the rise of this chatacter, but her downfall, I was totally hooked.
I really wouldn't have expected that…

M3GAN 2022
I feel like this could have been great if it had a director willing to go absolutely crazy with it (James Wan would have been perfect).
Occasionally it's pretty dark and funny but unfortunately for most of its runtime it just feels like the standard January horror film I see every year.
It's worth supporting just to see what they call the sequels though.
