I reference Socrates Symposium a lot when talking about love because I find it increasingly interesting how Aristophanes defines love, "the pursuit and desire to become whole". That as a punishment the gods split us apart, in a constant search for our other halves. I'm not sure that this is necessarily correct. Maybe i'd argue that love is a feeling between individuals that develops our own personal growth enough, until we can finally feel whole on our own.
