Kaleb Freeman’s review published on Letterboxd:
For my first entry of a new 2021 release I watched Judas and the Black Messiah last night. This movie is based off the story of Fred Hampton and the Black Panther Party. First off Lakeith Stanfield and Daniel Kaluuya are absolutely incredible. I would be shocked if Kaluuya doesn't win all the awards this year for Best Supporting Actor.
The story is interesting. We get to witness William O'Neal (Stanfield) to infiltrate the Black Panther Party and spy for the FBI and Chicago Police Department. Near the end we see O'Neal's struggle with who he should be loyal to. I wish we could have seen more of that earlier in the movie. The ending of this movie is heartbreaking and you just feel gross.
This is a crucial story that needed to be told.
