It’s not so much that it’s dumb, all the Jurassic Park movies are dumb on some level, but it really emphasizes how certain filmmakers are made for this kinda movie and others are not. Scenes of raptors chasing motorcycles, Dino pit fights, swarms of fiery locusts, airplanes vs flying prehistoric beasts should all be exciting, or at least cool, on some level, but are all just one more thing to slog through here. All we do get is a mildly amusing performance from Campbell Scott, and two plus hours of being as bored with dinosaurs as the filmmakers are. Oh, and some real big locusts.

Wiener-Dog 2016
Todd Solondz’s nicest movie? Which isn’t saying it’s nice at all. There were just a few legit joyful sequences. Which were of course followed with cynical gut-punchlines.

Babe: Pig in the City 1998
"A murderer's shadow lies hard across my soul," is a thing a dog says to a pig in this movie. These kind of sincere, crazy ambitious follies are few and far between. They need to be treasured.
