Kevflix And Chill’s review published on Letterboxd:
I had never seen this before. I (checks notes) really liked this. I think would need to see this at least three more times to speak intelligently about it. There’s obviously a lot going on under the surface. In general, though, I love those kinds of films that require a fair amount of unpacking to reveal the essence of the thematic elements. The performances are wonderful. Favorite moment is Donnie calling Elizabeth a “fuck-ass” and she quips back telling him to “suck a fuck”. I like to imagine Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal having that exact same argument at their childhood home.
Obviously, I need to watch this again. Fully expect star rating to increase upon rewatch. Great soundtrack also.
