Kennoniah’s review published on Letterboxd:
Last night I had the great experience of seeing this film on the big screen. From the tense beautiful music to the vast gorgeous landscapes, the way Miyazaki builds this epic spanning world makes you think it was meant to be seen on the big screen.
The first half I love more than the second. In the first when everything is being set up, things for the most part make sense. The latter half when the battle ensues is when things become a little hectic and hard to follow. But Miyazaki has done a beautiful job of making us care for our characters that it’s not enough to dislike.
I always love the line “that’s weird. I didn’t know the Forrest Spirit made the flowers grow.” Everyone had been trying to kill the author of life in the Forrest itself. And they didn’t even know it.
