Keith’s review published on Letterboxd:
Viola Davis is so fucking good in this (and everything she's in). I hope she gets an Oscar nom.
I hope I don't sound insensitive, but I really had a hard time understanding the dialogue for the first hour or so. The accents were really thick. Nevertheless, this didn't take away from my enjoyment of the film. The biggest drawback for me was the pacing. Otherwise, The Woman King is a really solid film with great direction and excellent acting. Really close to being a 4 star film for me, but the pacing knocked it down a notch.
Side note: I can't believe Thuso Mbedu is 31 years old!
