What a stellar movie. The story is told subtly and beautifully. A story about memory, and ageing and loss. Incredibly natural performances by Paul Mescal and Frankie Corio. Their chemistry was amazing. This one stuck with me.

The Banshees of Inisherin 2022
Gotta say I didn’t love it. War sucks. So does a crappy friend. Just felt sad by the end. Drama / comedy? Not so much. Special mention to Colin Farrell’s eyebrows. Most impressive and stole many of the scenes they appeared in. Jenny the miniature Donkey was also solid in a supporting role. Don’t understand the fuss about this movie, it’s no In Bruges.

Babylon 2022
Somehow appropriate that I watched this in a totally empty 200 seat theatre. Loved every one of its 189 minutes. A brash audacious over the top film. So close to a complete train wreck but somehow Chazelle pulls it off (mostly) Whether you love it or hate it a must see. Will go down as one of the best of the year. Most fun I’ve had in the cinema in ages. Lowest art of the highest calibre.

Avatar: The Way of Water 2022
James Cameron creates another spectacular world. There were a couple points where water was rolling down my cheeks. See it in imax 3d. You won’t be disappointed.
