Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness 2022
The only thing I disliked more than this exercise in how to incorrectly light an actor on a greenscreen was the guy two rows behind me - who screamed βOH SHIT!β at the top of his lungs at the sight of some CGI shrubs in the Avatar 2 trailer.
These films and the experience of watching them with a crowd just arenβt for me anymore. I canβt pretend that Rachel McAdams (who maybe had seven minutes of screen time inβ¦

Everything Everywhere All at Once 2022
Just so fresh. So innovative. So fun.
My heart has never swelled so often, and that scene where she and her husband experience everything between each other all at once is just hands-down the greatest scene in the last decade of cinema. -
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker 2019
Complete cinematic cowardice. Destroys all the independence that came from the previous film in favour of familiar beats, quotes, motifs and sequences. JJ Abrams fortunately saves some of this sludge with competent direction and an eye for visuals. Yet, it still remains completely forgettable.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi 2017
A true spectacle of the series. Explores and dissects a lot of the overarching themes of the franchise, and delivers with a story that really develops the characters and world. The last hour is magnificent, and visually itβs the most appealing of the Star Wars saga (see: The Throne Room, Hyperspace, Battle on the Salt, Lukeβs triumphant return). Nothing in these films has ever hit as hard as the payoff to the line, βI will not be the last Jedi.β
Unpopular opinion, but I think this might be the best one.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens 2015
A little worn from the turbulent reception of the sequels since release, The Force Awakens is a flawed tale with magnificent direction, strong performances, great effects work and a return to form for the series. Undeniable fun.

Return of the Jedi 1983
Horribly paced and very wonky, but god damn the confrontation in the throne room is such a satisfying climax to this trilogy.

The Empire Strikes Back 1980
Is there a Wookiepedia explanation for all of the fingerprints and smudges on Darth Vaderβs helmet? Just curious.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith 2005
Probably the only of the βSpace Operaβ genre to actually feel like an opera in space.

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones 2002
The cinematic equivalent of eating one of those synthetic processed slices of cheese that come sealed in plastic.
