I listened to both commentaries: the director's one with David Fincher and the actor's one with Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Armie Hammer, Josh Pence, and Aaron Sorkin. I was interesting hearing everyone talk about their characters and how they view them and their mindsets. Like the "You didn't have to be that rough with him" scene, Jesse says he believes Mark would say that because he didn't agree that Sean should've done that to Eduardo in the very public work space. If anything it makes the scene sadder to me. And Fincher praising Rooney, saying that she would make a lasting impression even though she had barely any screentime (and she definitely made an impression). And the scene where Mark tries to talk to Rooney's character, Fincher apparently kept telling Jesse to stop playing it so emotional and to dial it down more and more. It was really cool to hear how much everyone really respected the actors whose characters weren't really a large part of the story, like Rashida Jones, Dakota Johnson, and Brenda Song. Also, hearing Armie talk about how there was one scene where they had to eat french fries and by the end of the day, they had used about 5 lbs of fries or how Max Minghella ended up puking was funny. Everything was just really interesting and it was cool to hear everyone's processes and listen to them talk about everything. I would really recommend listening to both. And it's kind of hilarious and painful to think that Andrew had to break around thirty computers for that one scene.
