I haven’t read the book. But the film adaptation was a bit of a drag. I can understand the slow pace. It’s southern gothic crime/romance. So it’ll have to be slow, naturally. But at two bloody hours long, I lost interest long before the final act. Plus I’ve seen enough court dramas to know the prosecution’s case was rubbish. More comical than Depp vs Turd in fact.
