Letterboxd — Your life in film

First time seeing it on a big screen, and boy, howdy. Eastwood's best by a mile.

Self-parodying isn't uncommon, but the fact that Evil Dead did it to the point that it BECAME the franchise is f*cking wild.

Sam Raimi has said that Bruce Campbell was the one of their friends group who ended up in front of the camera instead of behind it because he was the one girls liked to look at and, I mean, LOOK at him.

That's it, that's my review.

I will throw down for this movie until the day I die.

Doesn't get any easier to watch, still freaking terrific. Love Pat Healy. Lowkey obsessed with the title card.

I have three things to say, which are:

1) 2016 was a big year for bad dads in Korean cinema.
2) This is a better train movie than Snowpiercer.
3) There is ONE flub in the last act, but otherwise, this movie's pretty perfect.

Jane Levy is terrific. The rest of the movie, I could take or leave.

Love it when the monsters in kids' movies are actually kind of upsetting-looking.

Fine. I need some time to sit with it, mostly with regards to what was up with Golshifteh Farahani's character. First time, though, that I've "gotten" Adam Driver.

My fondest memory of this movie is seeing it last year with one of my best friends and realizing we both had tears streaming down our faces for the entirety of the last act. All-timer.

Baby's first Miike. Don't know how I hadn't seen this before given my soft spot for semi-delusional superhero antics, predestination, and space aliens.

If the "He Needs Me" sequence doesn't get you, I don't know what to tell you.
