The fan favorite of the Nightmare series also happens to be one of my least favorites. Across the board badddd acting, terrible writing, least amount of on screen Freddy, and it just looks so flat. Was at least the last “attempt” to be scary and the effects are great. The major difference between the Nightmare series vs. the Friday the 13th series is that the first Friday wasn’t all that great, so the sequels could only go up. The Nightmare series, without much direction from Wes Craven, could only continue as the most elaborate cash grab of sequels. I don’t know how I can say this, but even the 2nd film had more intrinsic weirdness in the direction it took.
