This movie is so dumb and unintentionally weird. I love it, though. You can tell that after The Village and before The Visit, M. Night Shyamalan wanted to go bigger and grandeur. The Happening has a super cool premise, but a very weak and cheesy execution.
This is a sequel that entertains with the action spectacle and technical aspects, improves on the Eddie Brock/Venom moments and the style, but also suffers from a toned down rating, short run time and some underdeveloped scenarios. Still, it's a solid experience.
And the multiverse is coming. Be prepared.
See, this is the kind of horror/thriller film that needs to be shown to the public nowadays. Subtle in style, more focused on the characters and the story, amping up that damn suspense, and of course, some clever plot twists.
Oh, and whoever came up with the idea that Sarah Paulson should play as the Other Mother/the Beldam in a live-action Coraline remake, you're a total genius, because we kinda got that here with this movie. Man, she always crazy.
