Kai Perrignon’s review published on Letterboxd:
I enjoyed this significantly more than when I watched it in French class years ago, but I'm still unable to engage with it moment to moment because of the dissonance between the mundanity of the dialogue and the emotional tenor used to sing it. Holistically, the narrative is as complex a romance as film has allowed, all moving to an ending of theoretically stunning power. On the way to that ending, though, is a series tedious conversations sung beautifully.
