I really enjoyed black widow despite not being very excited at all before hand. I think the chemistry between Florence Pugh and Scarlett Johansson made a lot of this movie and their relationship kept me hooked the whole way through. The action is as always very fun to watch and the villain was unexpectedly terrifying at times. What keeps this from being a slam dunk though are a few things. First off Task Master is one of my favorite marvel villains just from the concept of that character alone I was so excited to see what they were going to be capable of in Black Widow, and they’re hardly in the movie. The movie teases that a big fight between Task Master and Alexi is about to happen but then cuts from what black widow is doing Alexi’s fight so that fight never feels like a complete scene. I also thought that Alexi and Melina were both pretty undeveloped and didn’t serve much point the film’s story later on. Overall I had a good time with black widow. It’s not an MCU best but it’s a good time none the less.
