A Ghost Story

A Ghost Story ★★★★½

The most quiet movies sometimes can be the most powerful ones.

Sometimes when you just randomly scroll through your streaming services and decide to watch a movie you normally wouldn‘t, but then you get surprised in the best way possible. It‘s been a couple of hours now since I finished this beautiful piece of filmmaking and I still don‘t know how to talk about it. There are no words that could describe how brilliant and heart wrenching this movie is, even though it is so simple, but yet so powerful.

It‘s a story about grief and even though there was nearly no dialogue in this movie I felt so much during it‘s runtime. The last movie that made me feel that exact way was Hereditary.
„A Ghost Story“ is completely hypnotizing with an unusual but splendid way of storytelling and absolute beautiful cinematography. I‘ve never seen a film that was so quiet but yet so loud - and all that without nearly any words. The words weren‘t visible, but you felt them nonetheless.

Just WOW. WOW. WOW.  I‘m really close to giving it 5 stars, because I‘m beyond amazed by this original and creative piece of art, so these are basically 4.75 stars for now, but I‘m pretty sure it will go up on a rewatch. It won‘t be something for everyone, but PLEASE WATCH IT REGARDLESS !!!
