Jack’s review published on Letterboxd:
a monumental cinematic triumph that vastly separates itself from the crowd of uninspired comic book movies of late. it’s a superhero film that embraces those eyegasmic comic book splash page moments and bombastic spectacle, yet also ensures that such moments don’t come in between its heartbreakingly beautiful rumination on loss & learning to come to terms with it. it’s a Zack Snyder film that’s not riddled with nihilism nor characterized by its meaningless style, but instead, a film so full of optimism and empathy in its display of humanity within the superhuman. absolutely no one is doing it quite like Zack Snyder and it’s a shame that we most likely won’t get more of his singular, wildly entertaining vision for the DCEU. but one can only hope!
