I'm rewatching a lot of my favorite films of the year and focusing mostly on the acting this time around. This is my third watch of The Lighthouse and I can't for the life of me figure out why it didn't receive more award nominations... oh wait it's the Oscars and Golden Globes... I get it. Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe's work is so physical and there are so many long shots, and the sets must have been gross.. I'm just fully impressed. I know Dafoe has been talked about as an Oscar snob and I agree but I really want to stress how good of a job Robert Pattinson does with this role. His work is inspired so I hope that the Lighthouse remains a film people talk about for years.
