Cheesy spooky.

Malignant is lots of fun, not in small part due to its rapid pacing and ridiculous script. The film is really immersive, with Wan pulling out all sorts of tricks to give a chic and creepy look to the film. The scares don't all work for me but they rarely do so, for me, the most important evaluation of a horror film like this is that I was entertained and occasionally creeped out. James Wan definitely had a goal here and I believe it was reached but some people will hate Malignant for its jump scares and cheese... those people are not fun.
