It’s so rare to watch a movie that perfectly balances humor, insightful thoughts, and has a visual identity.
This movie has been re-done countless times now. From Dazed and Confused to can't hardly wait and now recently with Booksmart, but I can't help but feel American Graffiti is the only one that got the truly aimlessness of youth, but the joy of knowing that's what's great about it. It didn't need to be a coming of age story, because age comes through growing older, and Lucas knew that.
