I Heard You Paint Houses.
Everyone likes food.
But when Caleb Decoteau asks for 50 thousand dollars to buy all the mexican chicken mole he wants, it was really QT projecting himself, trying to feed the industry with multiple brilliant snippets of audacity (oh, because he is!), in all his boldness.
But as good as the chicken mole may be (I have not tried it) you could be quite fed up just by the second course, for real! And no 50k’s worth of italian spaghetties…
This is the second time I watch this movie since its release and wow, its oppressive nature; always dark always stealing oxygen from the audience.
Seems like Nina has a concrete beam over her shoulders throughout the whole movie and that feeling is fascinating.
Aronofsky, unlike his other oppressive film, manages so many with so little details. Nothing too fancy, just camera work and grey walls.
Great on many levels.
