When I was a kid, my dad got cancer. Nearly died.

A few years ago, my grandfather passed away.

Two years later, my brother and his wife moved away to Ohio.

This year, my wife and I had our first child, a daughter.

Family is hard. I used to yell at my brothers all the time. Just really scream at them (to be fair, my middle brother can be kind of an asshole). My parents got on my nerves. My…

Weirdest episode of Top Chef I’ve ever seen...Eli Roth's indictment of college activism in the face of political realism does not disappoint (because expectations were always low). He clearly learned about FGM in college and decided to make a movie that incorporated it, ant torture (thanks sociology class!), some weird/funny stories about a few of his friends and his odd culturally appropriative ideas about Amazonian tribes with a gross caricature of his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend Alejandro.

It's a good thing Morbius is in a different universe, or Wayne Enterprises would sue the crap out of him for bat infringement.

This movie was so close to being okay, but the pacing is terrible and the character building basically doesn't happen at all. No one ever gets any development and the plot points don't seem to build or follow logically. They're just a series of somewhat related happenings that you can kind of suspend your belief for because it's a superhero movie.

    All in all, meh.

And why in the heck would you bring Michael Keaton back? Who was asking for that?

Very fun. Great score, a pretty passable story for a Marvel movie, and a fantastic villain. I don't know if people are going to go around saying "Gorr the God-Butcher was right" but his viewpoint is quite understandable, given his background. I found him to be the creepiest villain yet and I loved the lighting and art aesthetic around his character.

The stuff with Jane was fine. Certainly many fans wanted that relationship to happen. I thought the ending was…

If you haven’t seen this latest Marvel film, I would highly recommend it. This movie is fantastic for several reasons, it is not just “another superhero movie”, it is smartly written and funny, while at the same time capable of great poignancy, and it is reminiscent of great (in my opinion) movies, such as Star Wars, Serenity and the new Star Trek: Into Darkness, to name a few.

In recent years, there has been a “superhero blockbuster” every five minutes,…

So mom and dad definitely had sex after Riley left, right?
