Redden’s review published on Letterboxd:
The film was a really, really good character study of 4 black friends who are Vietnam Veterans and go look for buried treasure left behind by one of the fallen comrades. I was really into it until the last 45 minutes where it decides to shift the plot in a way I really didn’t care for at all and became less invested in the film by that point.
I think the film would’ve been better off with the last 45 minutes cut out and a completely different ending to make the film 2hrs since the last 45 minutes felt really detached from the rest of the film. Don’t get me wrong, the last 45 minutes were entertaining, but it felt like something that was thrown in for the sake of adding forced stakes into the film.
Decent To Strong 7/10
